Zoe Williams (1983, UK) employs a variety of media, including installation, video, ceramics, drawing and performance, which together contribute to defining the artist’s poetic imagery, amidst sensuality, mysticism, rituality, and paradigms that are primarily feminine. This technical and thematic variety allows her to work on a clearly multidimensional creative spectrum. In addition, Williams’ practice often involves other artists from disciplines such as dance or film, thus enriching the creative process with eccentric perspectives from the visual arts. The scenarios and objects in which these are placed are often characterised by a playful and explicitly provocative dialogue. Williams’ works are suspended in time and space; they speak of the cultural and social transformations that determine our perception of the world and the relational mechanisms that shape it.
