La struttura \u00e8 fastosa e imponente, improntata al manierismo dell\u2019epoca, con una facciata in bugnato liscio e scandita da finestre sormontate da timpani triangolari e curvilinei. La divisione orizzontale, costituita da una fascia marcapiano ornata da un fregio a greca, funge da parapetto per il piano nobile, mentre l\u2019ampio e maestoso portale settecentesco presenta colonne doriche aggettanti, che sostengono il balcone sovrastante. Il piano superiore ripropone la stessa suddivisione degli spazi, e si conclude con una cornice di gronda sorretta da mensole antropomorfe.<br>Oggi ospita il Museo Civico Ala Ponzone, la Biblioteca Statale e il Museo Stradivariano.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":[],"acf":{"testo_eng":"<img class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-655\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cremona-artweek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/12-Affaitati-2-777x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"777\" height=\"1024\" \/>\n\nEmblematic of the social prestige achieved by the Affaitati family, the palace represents one of the most important examples of 16th-century Cremonese architecture. Built in the second half of the 16th century, Palazzo Affaitati was designed by architect Francesco Dattaro, also known for participating in the construction of the cathedral together with Antonio Campi. The structure is sumptuous and imposing, marked by the mannerism of the time, with a fa\u00e7ade in smooth ashlar and punctuated by windows surmounted by triangular and curvilinear tympanums. The horizontal division, consisting of a string course decorated with a Greek frieze, acts as a parapet for the main floor, while the wide and majestic 18th-century portal features projecting Doric columns supporting the balcony above.
